A holistic vision for future mobility

City Moonshot is the ERTICO initiative that seeks to engage, inspire and empower cities by understanding their needs and requirements in mobility and transport. To this end, it performs a global survey, interviewing 300 city and region representatives. The data collected translates into a comprehensive report that analyses the cities’ main concerns and priorities. Considering cities’ role as key players in a more efficient, inclusive and sustainable industry, City Moonshot also gathers studies, projects, new technologies and best practices.  

City Moonshot has already interviewed nearly 200 cities. Following Phase I emphasis on data exchange, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and sustainability policy priorities, the team has included two new topics: e-mobility and Urban Air Mobility (UAM). Phase II findings will culminate in a detailed report. The team has held webinars on these topics to foster engagement and facilitate knowledge exchange and status updates. ERTICO Academy is a unique ITS and mobility training programme tailored to the needs of public authorities and their stakeholders. It offers a blend of training programmes enriched with workshops delivered by ERTICO in-house experts and our prestigious international partners, to upskill for rapid changes in smart mobility and transport systems. Academy training aims to increase mobility literacy and deployment readiness, including the latest innovations.  

In 2023, ERTICO Academy worked to increase the accessibility of training by adopting a four-level hands-on approach to learning, cross-fertilisation and knowledge growth. We are continuing conversations and dialogue with public authorities, including government ministries and cities, in providing in-person training at their local levels and offering free access to the online courses available on the Academy website.
